Timothy Rosenberg is a dynamic, expressive
saxophonist committed to learning, performing, teaching and arranging
classical and contemporary works in solo and ensemble settings. Timothy
studied saxophone in Gap, France in 2005 where he learned the
importance of efficient technique and excited a passion for French
saxophone music as well as new music from around the globe.
Timothy received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and Performance from Ithaca College in 2005 where his teachers included Steven Mauk and Connie Frigo. Timothy enjoys exploring new music as well as the "standards" of the saxophone repertoire. He has given numerous recitals of varied repertoire. Some of the composers featured on his recitals were Albright, Maslanka, Dahl, Lauba, Noda, Rorem, Lennon and Piazolla.
While at Ithaca College Timothy has transcribed and/or arranged many works from their original formats to a version for saxophone. His list of transcriptions can be found here and feature works by Chopin, Barber and Maslanka.
Tim is also known as the baritone saxophonist with the Cayuga Saxophone Quartet. The quartet has seen successful results in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Chamber Music Competition and they were semi-finalists in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. The quartet has given recitals at Ithaca College, Elmira College, SUNY Binghamton, the 2006 Navy Saxophone Symposium and the 2006 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference in Iowa City, IA.
Currently Timothy plays with the H2 Quartet at Michigan State University. This quartet reciently won the Gold Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and can be heard on a upcoming CD on the Arizona University Record Label. Timothy also plays with new music group called the Hyperbaton Ensemble as well as the Michigan State University Saxophone Ensemble.
