ABOUT TIMOTHY

IN BRIEF

Timothy Rosenberg is a dynamic, expressive saxophonist committed to teaching, performing, and arranging classical and contemporary works in solo and ensemble settings. He is also an accomplished recording engineer specializing in classical music and jazz. He is currently the Professor of Saxophone at Ithaca College.

Timothy received his Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University in 2010. His research document is titled "Interpreting the Saxophone Music of William Albright: a Surrealist Approach," which will be the topic for lectures and publications to come later this year.

Timothy received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and Performance from Ithaca College in 2005 where his teachers included Steven Mauk and Connie Frigo. Timothy received his Master's Degree in 2008 from Michigan State University under the tutelage of Professor Joseph Lulloff. Timothy's other teachers include Claude Delange, Vincent David, and Jean-Denis Michat.

Timothy enjoys exploring new music as well as the most popular works in the saxophone repertoire. He has played baritone saxophone for the Cayuga Saxophone Quartet and the Fischoff Gold Medal Winning H2 Saxophone Quartet. He has played at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Chamber Music Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Ithaca College, Elmira College, SUNY Binghamton, the 2006, 2007, and 2010 International Saxophone Symposiums. He has also performed at 2006, and 2008 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conferences.
